Nissan AR

Next to the latest e-learnings developed for Nissan we’ve developed an Augmented Reality app that projects information on different sections of different new Nissan models.

The Nissan mechanics are trained to service new Nissan models with this Augmented Reality app. The app shows different new elements on the different locations on the cars. The information about the different elements can be called up by tapping the different bullets that are placed on the car in the corresponding locations. The information is divided over different sections of the car like the front, side and rear, the dashboard, the engine and depending on the model also on additional section.

Apart from the Augmented Reality on the cars we have incorporated a 3D model with all the information of all the different car models that can be projected on an a marker image as backup. A very strong example of the added value of Augmented Reality.

3D Edge based tracking (or CAD) tracking in action. Based on a 3D countour drawing of the electric engine we can very rapidly recognize it in camera images and enhance it with extra information in Augmented Reality. Our Nissan AR app runs on Android and iOS smart devices but we can build similar apps for smartglasses.

With this latest e-learning developed for Nissan we’ve included a number of 3D models in Augmented Reality. In the past the working of Nissan’s mechanics were explained with 2D schemes on paper. This is a very convincing example of the added value of Augmented Reality.

The Friendly Pear puts a smile on your face

Migo, the friendly pear
The Migo pear is quite a unique pear, because unlike other pears, this one doesn’t drip as much. This makes it the ultimate pear on the go!
The launch campaign for this new taste sensation started late- October 2016. The Migo pear app was created to support this campaign and lets you play with the concept of smileys mixed with “the friendly pear”.

Face Recognition

The  app includes facial recognition software like the well-known Snapchat function, but this one let you put a Migo smiley on your face. You can also get a bunch of smileys by scanning the bottom of the Migo pack with the app.

Meet the travel-friendly pear

During the campaign there were also  video stands (with a build-in iPad Pro) at various train stations in the Netherlands, where people were able to bring a Migo smile to their faces and to become acquainted with this (travel) friendly pear.

Welcome on board of the MS Ostfriesland!

You are aboard the first German passenger ship powered by LNG fuel. With this app we offer you the opportunity to learn more about the innovative technology aboard this ship. Using Augmented Reality you can bring the environment to life.

This is done by looking for the various AR icons aboard this ship. Once the camera detects one of the eight AR icons this automagically augments them with additional entertainment and information.

Have you discovered all eight AR icons?

Try searching for the 9th and final AR icon and take part in the quiz and become a respected MS Ostfriesland Ambassador. Enjoy your trip!
